Heather Lang Cassera became Clark County’s third poet laureate in 2019. Heather holds a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry with a Graduate Certificate in Literary Translation. She has lived in China and translates Chinese poetry. In 2017, she was named Las Vegas’ “Best Local Writer or Poet” by the readers of KNPR’s Desert Companion. In addition to her Zeitgeist books, she has edited for a number of notable presses and anthologies, including Legs of Tumbleweeds, Wings of Lace. She works and teaches at Nevada State College, where she has been a founding member of the NSC Arts & Culture Council and Editor-in-Chief for 300 Days of Sun.
